The Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has taken advocacy on Menstrual Hygiene to five communities of Lagos State, as part of plans in enhancing Women’s reproductive health.

The sensitization and advocacy initiative which commenced on Monday 19th June, was targeted at ensuring women / girls were educated on relevance of using good hygienic products during their menstrual cycles, in order to ward – off habits that could be detrimental to their health.

Five Communities of Lagos State, were considered for the initiative, namely: Ayetoro Community in Oto – Awori LCDA, Apapa , Somolu , Lagos – Island and Alimosho Local Government Areas of Lagos State, with 5,000 beneficiaries receiving free sanitary pads to commemorate the initiative.
