Mrs. Kalesanwo Oluyemi Yewande – PERMANENT SECRETARY

KALESANWO OLUYEMI YEWANDE

Administration and Strategic Management expert, the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Women Affairs And Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Kalesanwo Oluyemi Yewande was born on May18, 1965 in Ikole – Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Early Education for Oluyemi began at Kosy Bethel Primary School Ilupeju, Lagos where she obtained her first school Leaving Certificate in 1976.

She proceededto St. Louis Grammar School Ikere – Ekiti where she sat for and obtained the General Certificate of Education Ordinary level in 1981.The then young Oluyemi went and obtained her ‘A’ Levels at Ondo State College of Arts and Science Ikare, Akoko in 1983.  The thirst for additional Academic Qualification saw her at the Nigeria Premier University, the University of Ibadan where, on completion of the prescribed courses of study, she was awarded Bachelor of Education B.E.d., History and Religious studies in 1987. Also, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism in 1994.

Mrs. Kalesanwo Oluyemi Yewande joined the Lagos State Public Service through the Teaching Service Commission as Master Grade II in year 1990 and worked at the at Army Children High School, Army Cantonment Ikeja, Lagos where she rose to the level of Master Grade I GL 09 in year 1993.

Thereafter, she was given a new appointment by the State Civil Service Commission as Inspector of Education and deployed to the Ministry of Education, Inspectorate Department where she rose to the Post of Principal Inspector of Education. 

As part of her desire to have increased knowledge based in administrative profession and to achieve her dream of being a dynamic and professional administrator, She had Inter Cadre Transfer of Service to the mainstream Civil Service as an Admin and Human Resource Officer.

Being a Strategic Public Relations, Protocol and Travel Management enthusiast too, Mrs. Kalesanwo Oluyemi Yewande served as the Head of Protocol of the Office of the First Lady of Lagos Administrationbetween 1999-2012 and 2012-2015 respectively.

She was until her Appointment Director, Public Service Standard and Performance at the Lagos State Public Service Office between June 2015 and September 2016. Also, Director sAdmin & HR of the same Ministry from September 2016 to January 2017.

A Brief Stint of her carrier in service saw her at the Lagos State College of Health Technology Harvey Road, Yaba as the Director Administration and Human Resources which also doubled as the College’s  Registrar between January – August 2017.

She was equally the Director for Establishment at the Lagos State office of Local Government Establishments Training and Pensions, A post she Held until her Appointment as Permanent Secretary Ministry Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

An Administrator of Note,  She has served in various Committees, which include, ON-THE SPOT Inspection  Committee for the Newly Recruited Officers and LAWMA Staff in the Unified Local Government Service,  File Digitization and Biometrics Verification of active local Government Employees, Committee on Long Service Award in the Unified Local Government Service, Member of Secretariat of the Coordinating  Committee on the Presidential Visit to Lagos State, First  Edition of the BI-ENNIAL Summit of retired Head of Services and Permanent Secretaries in Lagos State among Others.

A Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, Fellow Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and Association of Human Resources Practitioners of Nigeria.

Mrs. Kalesanwo Oluyemi Yewande is Married and blessed with Children.

Her Hobbies Includes reading and travelling.
